MULTIMÉDICA HOSPITAL PROJECT
The vision of Multimédica is to develop health, as well as health care services and the medical infrastructure to offer Guatemalans and foreigners an international medical solution in Guatemala.
That is why, at first, the developers and promoters of Multimédica focused on consolidating the concept through a sixteen-floor building providing space for 160 medical offices, for the professional development of 280 physicians of different areas of specialization.
Moreover, the building has all the necessary services it needs to provide an integral solution to the patient, such as an Ambulatory Surgery Hospital, hospitalization area, a Diagnostic Center, a Clinical Laboratory, a Dental Specialties Centre, a Physical and Lung Rehabilitation Centre and other services focused on health issues.
In order to consolidate Multimédica as the most important medical complex in the Central American region and as the medical solution for Guatemalans, the planning and development of the second phase of this project was set in motion. For its development, Multimédica has hired international architectural firms, which specialize in the management of hospitals, as well as companies that specialize in the acquisition and equipment of hospitals.
This second phase includes the construction of an eighty-room hospital which will also provide space for 100 medical offices in an eighteen-level tower. The new hospital will have hospitalization areas for Pediatrics, Maternity, Gynecology, Surgery, Internal Medicine, Adult Intensive Care, Pediatrics Intensive Care and Neonatal Intensive Care. In addition, it will include support areas such as Surgery Units, a Trauma & Emergency Unit, Angiocardiography Units, as well as Physical and Respiratory Rehabilitation Units.
The construction of this project is planned to start in the beginning of 2010 and will be concluded in two years.
